Dewayne has been in the construction industry for 33 years, working mainly with civil projects such as installing roads to tower sites, tower foundations, slabs and footers for shelter buildings, generators, and tanks, and setting pre-cast shelter buildings on foundations. He has also built shelter buildings on foundations, dug trenches for electric and telco installations, installed grounding systems around communication towers and buildings, installed fencing around towers and buildings, and laid fabric and rock inside compound sites.

Dewayne has built over 30 roads, over 70 foundations for towers and buildings, installed over 30 trenches for power and telco, and built over 20 fences around towers and buildings. Much of Dewayne's work was done in electrical substations and oil and gas refineries, where all foundations are benchmarked. Dewayne owned his own construction business for 22 years. He is thorough and understands the importance of getting the job done correctly, on time, and on budget. Dewayne retired in 2021 but came out of retirement last year to work for Standard Wireless Group.
